It had been such a long time since I’d drawn Evilyn Frantic!

They are one of my favorite Berliners to draw – in fact, I first met them on the street outside Berlin Burlesque Week in 2017, and said “Hello, I would like to draw your picture!”

Evilyn is a sideshow and burlesque performer, producer, model and emcee.

I drew Evilyn at Dr. Sketchy’s Berlin in the teens.

I especially loved this marvelous witch look, with big boots and layered lace. I drew them onstage at Violet Variete, for the Berlin Bruiser queer rugby team, and in baroque styling for Dr. Sketchy’s. And mostly recently in 2020, in early lockdown days, for a Full Moon Cabaret online show – live from Evilyn’s mom’s sauna!

Evilyn is always stylish and punk and fun.

So it was wonderful to join a Sketcherei session featuring Evilyn last week. (You can see the in-person moments here!)
